Jesus is Lord of all everything was created through him and he was the word the word was with God the word was God!
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was with God in the beginning. Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made. In him was life, and that life was the light of all mankind. The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.
John 1:1-5 NIV
He created everything. If signs and wonders and manifestations was the way and what he wanted to make people worship he could have easily made a big show and caused the fire rain and wind and elements of the world to show up and show off for him and performed those types of big displays of what he can do. Instead he chose the lowliest of places to be born. He didn’t make himself come in riches and splendor with the comforts of this world, but he showed us who he was and he demonstrated love and obedience to his father when he went to the cross and suffered and died for our sins to reconcile us to the father and himself.
The Pharisees and Sadducees came to Jesus and tested him by asking him to show them a sign from heaven. He replied, “When evening comes, you say, ‘It will be fair weather, for the sky is red,’ and in the morning, ‘Today it will be stormy, for the sky is red and overcast.’ You know how to interpret the appearance of the sky, but you cannot interpret the signs of the times.
A wicked and adulterous generation looks for a sign, but none will be given it except the sign of Jonah.” Jesus then left them and went away.
Matthew 16:1-4 NIV
Now the Lord provided a huge fish to swallow Jonah, and Jonah was in the belly of the fish three days and three nights.
Jonah 1:17 NIV
That would be the gospel. That God himself sent his one and only son… who was with God from the beginning. Whoever sees the son sees the father! They are ONE. And this ONEness this union of God… who is so holy and just and to be feared – this GOD WHO is so holy that if anything would come into his presence with sin would immediately die! This SAME GOD who is so righteous and just, is also the SAME GOD who in his great love and mercy, who is full of compassion and quick to forgive, came to punish sin and remove this sin that separated us from coming into his presence and have that same UNION with him that Jesus had. COME -UNION. That is why when we take COMMUNION we are remembering that Jesus himself became a sin offering for us so that all sins would be removed once and for all for those who have died with him and been raised with him into a new life!
Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus, because through Christ Jesus the law of the Spirit who gives life has set you free from the law of sin and death. For what the law was powerless to do because it was weakened by the flesh, God did by sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh to be a sin offering. And so he condemned sin in the flesh, in order that the righteous requirement of the law might be fully met in us, who do not live according to the flesh but according to the Spirit. Those who live according to the flesh have their minds set on what the flesh desires; but those who live in accordance with the Spirit have their minds set on what the Spirit desires. The mind governed by the flesh is death, but the mind governed by the Spirit is life and peace. The mind governed by the flesh is hostile to God; it does not submit to God’s law, nor can it do so. Those who are in the realm of the flesh cannot please God. You, however, are not in the realm of the flesh but are in the realm of the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God lives in you. And if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, they do not belong to Christ. But if Christ is in you, then even though your body is subject to death because of sin, the Spirit gives life because of righteousness. And if the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead is living in you, he who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies because of his Spirit who lives in you.
Romans 8:1-11 NIV
But that is totally not his heart. He doesn’t want people to worship him for what he can do for them. He wants a relationship.
He is like that rich young prince who is looking for a wife who would love him not for his wealth and power and position and royalty and just so they can become a queen to rule over others.
He comes as a lowly servant, poor and with nothing except his heart. Will we still fall in love with him. He wants to marry someone that will know him for who he is and want to know him and be known by him and then he reveals after she doesn’t love him just for his wealth and power… who he really is and marries her and gives all of that to her anyways.
Seek first the kingdom of God and all these things shall be added.
And the kingdom of God is so different from the kingdom of this world! It looks nothing like it.
So often the church is saying they are seeking the kingdom of God but they are seeking the kingdom of this world. They are seeking the things that Satan tempted Jesus with. Satan said bow down to me and worship me and I will give you all the kingdoms of this world and its splendor!
This promise is actually of the enemy and is not from God! That was the temptation.
JESUS REPLIED “AWAY FROM ME SATAN. FOR IT IS WRITTEN WORSHIP THE LORD YOUR GOD and SERVE HIM ONLY” matthew 4:8-10
Romans 8:28 the good of those who love him is not “good” the way the world sees it that everything you want in life in this world will go the way you want it to or that you will always be wealthy and have things go your way in this world. This good is to become more like Jesus conforming to his likeness!
In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us through wordless groans. And he who searches our hearts knows the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for God’s people in accordance with the will of God.
And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose. For those God foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brothers and sisters.
And those he predestined, he also called; those he called, he also justified; those he justified, he also glorified.
Romans 8:26-30 NIV
The spirit of the Lord says come. Come come! Come and drink of the FREE GIFT of the water of LIFE!
The Spirit and the bride say, “Come!” And let the one who hears say, “Come!” Let the one who is thirsty come; and let the one who wishes take the free gift of the water of life.
Revelation 22:17 NIV
